CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.0 Introduction
In
this chapter, I will discuss about the methodology used in this research to
collect data for the challenges in achieving equity and equality in education.
It consists of research design, sample and instruments use to collect data
needed to complete the research. The data is very important for the researcher
to analyze the result to measure the validity and reliability of the research.
3.1 Research Design
This
study is to determine the challenges in achieving equity and equality in
education. Furthermore, this research will utilize quantitative approach in
order to answer the all the research questions regarding the level of equity
focus has been integrated in programmes design and implementation that
contributed to achieve results, challenges faced and barriers in applying
equity focus and bes approaches of equity focus can be more effectively used
and applied in policy and programme development. It involves 60 respondents in
school.
3.2 Instrumentation
The
instrument that will be used in this research is questionnaire for the
participants.
3.3 Population
The
population of this study are teachers in Selangor. The teachers are coming from
different backgrounds of teaching and years of experience.
3.4 Sample
The
samples for this study are among teachers in Selangor. There are 60 teachers
will be selected as representatives for the whole population. The reason the
researcher choose teachers because they have the characteristics that the
researcher wants in this research. Moreover, the participants that involve must
have willingness and communicate effectively with the researcher.
3.5 Data Collection
The
data collection begins when researcher identified the instrument that will be
conducted for the study. The researcher will apply the permission from the
Faculty of Education and the school in Puncak Alam to do the research. The
researcher will distribute the questionnaire to 60 teachers in the school.
Their perspective on this toll will be used for data analysis. Lastly, the data
will be collected and will be analysed in the research.
3.6 Data Analysis Procedure
SPSS
will be used for statistical analysis. Inferential measurement will be used in
this research. Alpha was set at 0.05 for all comparisons.
3.7 Conclusion
This
chapter has discussed the detailed information of the research methodology that
was employed in the data collecting process. It covered the procedures on how
the research answered the research question and thus achieving its objectives,
which were to see the challenges in achieving equity and equality in education.
